About Me

Far Side of Fifty
I have been married to my best friend, Far Guy for 55 years. We have two beautiful daughters, five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Our Border Collie Chance died in September of 2018 he was 13 years and 11 months old...we miss him. We live in the "boonies" in Minnesota. I try each day to write about something that is on my mind, or a distant memory of how things were when I was a child! I blog to leave some small part of me behind..for my Grand kids! Far Guy was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia in December of 2007, he struggles daily with pain. In 2015 he was diagnosed with Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Defiency another rare genetic disorder. In July of 2019 he was placed on the Lung Transplant list for a double lung transplant. In 2021 he was taken off the lung transplant list because of his age. We take one day at a time:) Far Guy is retired Military, I am retired from our greenhouse business. In March of 2014 I retired again I am a former Director of a local Historical Museum.
